Well my prayers have been answered! I got a job serving at Cracker Barrel. I started Monday before Christmas. So far it's going good. Just a lot of learning to do. As weird as it may sound... I like to picture serving as an art... just as painting or sculpting, or whatever art may be to you... the more you do it, the more you learn and the better you become. Mainly it's all about the routine of the place... learning how it runs and operates.
So... Christmas was awesome this year. The babies had a great Christmas. Walker got everything imaginable to include 2 sets of MegaBlocks (which happen to be my favorite toys out of all of them). The neighbor bought him a set and my mother-in-law did too. My dad got him a cars bed set which we put on the couch in our room immediately and he has slept on it 2 full nights in a row!!! We got him a tricycle which he loves!! Rylee got a lot of stuffed animals and musical toys. There's not really much to get a 3 month old. Everything is so new and so exciting for her. I can't even imagine what Christmas would have been like without her. Don't get me wrong... I love Walker with all my heart and could never ask for a better little boy... but there's something special about this little girl... I can't put my finger on it though... we went through so much while I was pregnant... I guess I just feel a certain closeness to her. Like she felt what I was feeling during the troubled times.

What is currently going on...
So, Dustin quit his job and with it being the holiday season, we are both looking for jobs. It's so hard because even with all of our qualifications, there is still nothing available. We have applied for a few seasonal help positions just to get us through, but what happens when the holidays are over? Is there going to be anything open for us? I have been a stay at home mom since before Rylee was born, so about 10 weeks. She will be 8 weeks old tomorrow, so I guess it's time to go back to work.
That was the best job he could have at this point in time, but they just treated him so badly and he couldn't take it anymore. I can't say I blame him because I don't. It just put a lot of stress and pressure on the situation. Being that there is nothing currently available that pays the same as his old job we both have to work to make ends meet.
I have enjoyed being a SAHM and getting to know my kids. Gosh, we have really bonded over the last 8 weeks. Especially me and Walker. What's Rylee going to think when Mommy is always gone when she's so used to me being here? Is she going to think I left her? Or will she even notice? Walker is tickled to death that his daddy is home for more than a couple days at a time. He hasn't left his side.
Dustin does have an interview for a holiday job tomorrow with an opportunity for it to become full time at the beginning of the year, but will it?
We just found the perfect house for just $42,500. It's 4 huge bedrooms, 2 beautiful bathrooms, a walk-in closet the size of our current bedroom just inside the master bath. It has a huge open living room, beautiful big kitchen, a big backyard... just everything I could ever imagine in a house for us. The extra bedroom could be converted into a playroom even. But when he quit it seemed like the dream just faded away. We'll just have to rent for the time being until we know where life is going to take us.
This should be for the better. I knew the day would come when he would want another job. I just didn't know it would be this soon or sudden.
Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully toward the end of the week I will be able to give a better report.
